I ventured in the other day with family via their recommendations. Its a descent size place. Apparently on Mondays and Wednesday they have 1/2 off large pizzas, so if you buy two it is a BOGO deal, buy one get one. Great bargain. This is what we did. The large pizzas are just that, they are quite large. We ordered 2, one with pepperoni and green olives, the other with the same plus onions and mushrooms... mmmm delicious. I definitely enjoyed my pizza along side my glass of white wine. The pizzas came out rather quick and were steamy hot when got to the tables. They have jarred parmrsan and crushed peppers at the table, a +++ for myself as that is a staple of mine for any pizza. When we got there it was pretty quite, but by the time we left the place was getting pretty packed. Its so popular on M/W that they have parking attendants outside to guide people where to park and control traffic in the lot. I will say however that out waitress however she was cordial and friendly, she wasn't very liveley. She seemed tired. What kind of got me is she seemed a little annoyed by my kid who was sitting at the end of the table in a high chair, so every time she came to the table she would stand by my kid who would reach out at her... she didn't even talk to my kid or address her at anytime which kind of made my 2 year old daughter want her attention even more. It is what it is I guess, not everyone is a kid person, however I feel that my daughter is also a customer there and if in the least at least acknowledge her and say hi or smile or something. She was friendly with the rest of us (Adults) but a smile could have gone a long way. Lack of cheerfulness is my only complaint otherwise I would have given 5 stars. I really enjoyed my pizza and found it to be very delicious.

We visit NSB yearly and Stavros is always on our short list of places we must visit. I've been eating at Stavros for over 30 years. Their GREEK SALAD has ruined me for any other Greek salad in the world. The large is enough for a sports team. The waitress will even try to discourage you from ordering it. We love the leftovers though. I will admit it is mostly shredded iceberg lettuce, but the toppings and O&V dressing make it heavenly. The pizza is great too. I'm a fan of the Hawaiian. We always get more food than we need and take leftovers back to the condo. Service is great. It is almost a small town diner feel. Don't miss it.

The greeter / register lady with the short brown hair was a complete BITCH to us. And if we didn't love the food & our waitress we would of walked out!

Have bought pizza here in the past and have been satisfied - and yes, the greek salads are good. However, went in last night for salad and pizza. Salad was ok, but pizza was mushy in the middle and crust not crispy in the least bit. When I complained, we were told that their pizza oven is having trouble right now, but it should be fixed in a week or so. Thats all. No real apology, no offer to take something off the bill, just - too bad - you lose, come back in a week. It will be a long, long time before we return to this place, I can tell you that!

Wow. Did I just go to the same restaurant as all of these other Yelp reviewers? I don't see how that's possible. Where do I begin? Maybe with the Greek salad. Shredded iceberg lettuce, under-ripe tomatoes, flavorless feta cheese, and ONE ordinary (not Kalamata) black olive. A squeeze bottle of oil dressing did little to enhance the flavor of this tired salad. It was a Monday, so we ordered a large pizza for "half price plus a dollar", with cheese, sausage, mushrooms, onions & fresh tomatoes. When the pizza arrived, it was clear that the ingredients had spent little time getting acquainted. The pre-cooked crust had less flavor & texture than a stale piece of Wonder bread, and the assembled pizza had spent just enough time in the oven to melt the inexpensive mozzarella cheese. I've had my share of poor restaurant meals, but occasionally you come across one that is memorably bad. This was one of them. I can say without reservation that I would not recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. And from the look of the empty dining room, I'm not the only one.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Their "World Famous Greek Salad", the only good thing about it was it's size. Brought it out in a big bowl and it looked delicious, then I ate the two tomato slices and the one olive, and it was all ice burg lettuce and shredded ham after that. Got the ravioli, was NOT impressed. Waitress was rude and unhelpful.

(08/11/2012) Apparently they now only make the thin crust on Mondays and Wednesdays. We do like the regular crust, as well; it's bready, yeasty tang, salted, chewy and puffy. Not significantly stiff (somewhat difficult plate to mouth travel for the first few droopy bites), but good nonetheless. Sauce is savory with lots of dried basil and oregano and not overly sweet like many places; the cheese could be slightly higher in quality (somewhat translucent, like not enough dairy solids), and I know they've always used them, but I've never been a fan of canned mushrooms. Overall, good pizza, but like I said, we go for the Greek Salad :)

I can't believe this is the "Stavros" everyone raves about???? I should have known something wasn't right when we pulled into the parking lot on a Saturday night at 8pm and there were no other patrons, (the Dairy Queen across the street had a long line...). The service was fast, but I felt SO unwelcome ! Our group was a party of 8. There was no Parmesan cheese provided or on the table for the pizza. We looked around and there was none on other tables, so I got out of my seat to ask an employee. She replied "oh we have cleaned up and put everything away". I couldn't believe she would say that !!! She did promptly get 2 shakers of cheese, but her remark was rude. As we started finishing, she handed out the checks. 2 people quickly got out their cards to pay and one was in the middle of a conversation and she said to him "if you want to get yours out, I will take it up with the others. Again, very rude and rushing the customer ! When we left, it was about 9:10pm, one of the women happily replied "oh good we can close up now". WOW ! Rude. Rude. RUDE ! Their sign on the door stated they closed at 9:30...... Yes, the Greek salad is huge, but it was shredded iceberg lettuce. I hoped the dressing would enhance the monstrosity, but it didn't. The pizza had an odd flavor, it tasted like something alcoholic. I didn't say anything until me so said, "it smells like Daddy's beer". Needless to say, the 4 of us eating on the pizza did not finish it. I did bring home leftovers in the event that we got sick, I wanted the pizza checked. I cannot recommend this place. The owners need to hire new staff and train them properly. The staff working that evening didn't care, they just wanted to go home,

If you're ever in New Smyrna Beach you've got to stop by Stavro's. They have the best Greek salad I've ever had. I grew up on the pizza and their's is what I measure all other pizza against. The grinders are excellent as well. Damn! Now i've made myself hungry!!! Too bad I live 1200 miles away or I could take care of that problem.

Not the best Stavros I have been but it's still good. Can't go here without getting a Greek Salad!!!

Hands down, best pizza in town! I'm a Daytona native and have been eating at a Stavro's since at least 1984, and it is consistently the best! Huge Greek Salads! Yummy Calzones! AWESOME PIZZA!!

BEST GREEK SALAD IN THE WORLD. I have been coming here for 20 years and my beach visit is not complete without a greek salad, stringy cheese pizza, and a hot oven grinder! I love this place so much.

We love the Greek Salad when we come into town. We have had the gluten-free pizza and it's pretty good. Never had the regular pizza

Lunch, one slice of pepperoni with small drink = $4.79 (before tip). Which wouldn't be bad if the pizza was good. It just isn't, no way around it. It was kind of salty, greasy, too much gummy cheese. I noticed no one asked me how my food was during my visit. Stavros has always had a good reputation and I thought the pizza I had there in the past was ok (not great, but ok), so not sure what has happened.

The only thing good was the organized parking and the fast service. The pizza was thrown together from the most stale ingredients they could find. Even the crust was stale and the pizza was not even 10 minutes old. The Greek Salad? Cheap Feta and an olive together with some oil and vinegar does not make up for the shredded iceberg and cheap chopped lunch meat. We were told that this was a very popular place so all I can assume is that most of these people have never had decent pizza or salads. I am glad we had takeout because if I was inside and being server by a female pro-wrestler look alike the place would lose another star off the rating. But, I guess if I ate greasy salad with my hands I guess I might like a female server who looked like a pro-wrestler also? I cannot see how food this bad can get five stars for the experience? There is no way I am eating here again when I visit the area the next time.

Great pizzas, prompt service, geared towards families. Monday and Wednesday half price/pizza is the best deal in town.

Decent local style pizza. Not super memorable. Medium thick crust, sauce is OK, maybe too much cheese. Greek salads are good. Mondays large pizzas are half-price, so go on Monday.
